The Grapes of Glory
« In medio acquae : amidst the water », the Medoc starts 30 minutes to the north of Bordeaux, along the eastern side of the immense peninsula, irrigated by the Gironde estuary and the Atlantic Ocean.
Your round trip follows the famous scenic « Route des Châteaux » that meanders from Margaux to Saint-Julien Beychevelle, Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe.
Rich Bordeaux parliamentarians and wine merchants, well-inspired and motivated by a « planting craze » created this extent of mythic vineyards since the 17th century.
You will discover the world-famous stars of the 1855 Classification : Margaux, Palmer, Latour, Pichon-Longueville, Lafite-Rothschild, Mouton-Rothschild, Cos d’Estournel, draped in dazzling architecture, and also all the other crown jewels of this wine area, singularly renowned for its subtly complex and full-bodied red wines.
